Lost wax bronze casting.

This little statuette is a faithful replica of the study done by Pietro da Barga on the marble masterpiece by Michelangelo.
The original bronze masterpiece is now preserved inside the National Bargello Museum, together with the beautiful marble piece masterfully carved by Michelangelo.
The Sala Bronzetti inside the Bargello Museum holds many replicas in reduced scale of original masterpieces of the Florentine Renaissance, this to testify that masterful replicas were already popular in ancient times.
