Bathing girl Allegrain

The original work was created by Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain, a well-known French sculptor of the eighteenth century, who was one of the main sculptor-decorators of the castle of Louveciennes, in France, for which he sculpted a magnificent Venus. The beautiful goddess is portrayed in full figure, following aesthetic and proportional canons that clearly refer to the classical and Hellenistic ancient Greek models. The pose assumed by Venus accentuates the extreme delicacy and refinement of the goddess, who with extreme modesty tries to cover the bare parts of her body.
