Borghese vase

The beautiful original Greek vase depicting scenes from the "Bacchanalia" (Ceremonies for Bacchus) was sculpted in precious Pentelic marble around 40/30 AD.
Camillo Borghese sold the Borghese Vase in 1807 along with 695 other pieces of art to his brother-in-law Napoleon Bonaparte and has since been placed in the collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris.
The surfaces of the vase present in relief, female and male figures, intent on dancing in a circle and playing wind instruments, probably flutes.
