Lost wax bronze casting.

The word Putto in Italian means little boy. The Putto is a recurrent theme in Italian Renaissance sculpture: often depicted playing with animals, in funny and childish postures.
Most of these little kids are naked, to emphasize the natural attitude of infants towards freedom and liberty of movements.
This little Putto, meant for fountain, is playing with a dolphin he holds thight in his arms. The water spilts out of the fish's mouth.
