King Saul addresses his troops
On the left, King Saul clearly labeled and elevated above the fighting Israelites and Philistines addresses his troops.
Davide beheads Goliath
David is shown in the foreground cutting off the head of the giant after knocking him down with a stone from his slingshot. He uses Goliath’s own heavy sword to behead him.
Defeat of the Philistines
The right side of the panels shows the Israelites using swords and battles axes to drive out the Philistines, who fled when they saw that Goliath was defeated.
Victorious march to Jerusalem
Between the mountains in the upper portion of the panel, David and his followers carry Goliath’s head triumphantly to the city of Jerusalem seen in the background.
