This elegant statuet of a man represents Sunset, an allegorical interpretation of the ultimate part of life, a reduction in scale of the important sculpture created by Michelangelo for the tomb of Lorenzo di Urbino inside the Medici Chapels in Florence.
The Dawn statue couples the Sunset statue, represented this time by a woman, and again an allegorical interpretation this time of the intial part of life.
