Lost wax bronze replica.
Diana was the Goddess of the Hunt, being associated with wild animals and woodland. In literature she was the Greek equivalent of Goddess Artemis. Along with her main attributes Diana was the emblem of chastity and oak trees were especially sacred to her. Diana was often depicted as a young woman, her hair gathered behind the head; as a goddess of hunting, she wore a very short tunic so she could hunt and run easily and is often portrayed holding a bow, and carrying a quiver on her shoulder, accompanied by a deer or a hunting dog. Sometimes the hunted creature would also be shown.
