Dante Alighieri is one of the most important poets in Italian history. His contribution to the development of the Italian language was fundamental. A prolific and active author in the political struggles between the Guelphs and Ghibellines of 1300 Florence, Dante is mainly known for his great work, the Divine Comedy. This work commemorates and celebrates this great poet who is still the ambassador of Italian culture throughout the world.
