Lost wax bronze replica from original mold, mounted on marble column.

Valerio Cioli was a minor Italian sculptor, but certainly known in the artistic panorama of the Florentine Renaissance. He worked at the court of the Medici family during the time of Cosimo I and among his best-known and best-known works are the Fauno Morgante, made of stone, located inside the Boboli Gardens in Florence. The satyr represented here is holding in both hands an amphora from which he pours water, making this subject ideal for fountains, mounted on a marble column.
The original statue is located in the Bargello National Museum in Florence.
