David after Donatello, right - San Giorgio after Donatello, left

Lost wax bronze castings.

Next to eachother two interesting and well-know sculptures by one of the master of Renaissance, Donatello.
On the left is the Saint George to whom many critics have attributed an inspiration to the David by Michelangelo.
On the right is the David, an interesting yet rather ciriticised interpretation of the biblical hero.

Both the two little statues belong to the "miniature collection" of the Frilli Gallery, representing in reduced scale the classical sculptures of the Renaissance.
