The Danish artist Bjorn Skaarup realized a series called “Carnival of the animals”, from the musical suite of the same name, written by the French composer Camille Saint-Saens, which transform animal attributes into music.
The artist creates a world of joy and delightful humor.
The lion is the king of the animals, here is depicted as a Renaissance monarch, inspired by Giambologna’s sculptures. It’s wearing a crown, but he’s riding a rocking horse.
