Wedding Sonata by Anne Shingleton

Anne Shingleton is famous for representing animals, especially little ones such as frogs, bugs and others. She doesn’t like representing big and majestic animals of the great monuments like horses or lions. She studied zoology and so she’s very good in representing their anatomy.
Here the artist represents a praying mantis while she’s eating its mate after mating. She ironically titled the artwork “wedding sonata”.
