The North Door is back - Frilli Gallery casting the replicas to the North Door of the Florence Baptistery by Lorenzo Ghiberti

Florence, Santa Maria del Fiore square - Florence Baptistery

The North Door replica was unveiled to the public on Saturday January the 23rd 2016, after 4 long yrs of works, to cast it, with the ancient techiniques of the lost wax method.

The ceremony took place a the presence of the Archbishop of Florence, the major rapresentative, and the major instituitions of the Fine Arts offices of town. The event saw the presence of the Guild of the Dome members, a non profit organization of entrepreneurs of different faiths, coming from all over the world, who financed the casting of the replica and the restoration of the masterpiece.

The replica is a museum quality one; such level of quality was achived thanks to the mix of innovative cutting edge 3D laser scanning techniques of the original artwork, coaudivated by the decennial expertise of fine bronze chiselers, who managed to preserve and use the techinques of Master Ghiberti.
