The Oriental Dancer is a liberty sculpture. This international artistic movement is known with different names in different countries. In France it’s called “Art Nouveau”. It is a reaction to academic art and it is inspired by nature, its force, dynamism and particularly by the curved lines of plants and flowers. This sculpture, characterized by extremely dynamic and fluent lines, represents a perfect example of this movement.
