We welcome the new sculpture by Turkish sculptress Asli Saglam. The work embodies and expresses Asli's love for the animal world, both large and small.
The work, with its naturalism, embodies a strong allegorical value, which is always alive in the vision of this young Sculptress.
Asli, who studied and became a sculptor in Italy, chose to produce and create in our country because she feels fully Italian in her artistic conception and development, finding valuable collaborators over time for her beautiful castings.
Her vision for this newly inaugurated group is a caress for the soul, erasing the sense of loneliness that we all experience in our confusing and alienating times, telling us all that by looking to the past we can find the way forward, despite everything, with a happy step:
“The two snails move forward together, carrying with them something more than a simple shell.
One gathers the delicate imprint of family lace: a memory carved into the structure, a quiet inheritance and nostalgic comfort. The other guards her cherished leaves upon the shell, a precious vessel of the nomadic desire that guides toward the future.
Together they narrate the possibility of blending tradition with free choice; the shared base patina they carry softens and dissolves every distinction.
The Confidantes celebrates the beauty of sharing a path while each protects, within their own shell, the story of who they were and who they have chosen to become. A path that safeguards fragments of life, between subtle memory and small talismans.”
