The Florentine Wild boar travels to Macau

MGM Hotel - Macau - China

The Frilli Gallery is proud to announce its participation to the exhibtion with a faithful full size replica in bronze, from an original mold, of the famous Florentine Wild boar.
It is nowadays considered to be a good luck symbol and one of the most representatives of the city of Florence.
The tradition wants that visitors to Il Porcellino put a coin into the gaping boar's jaws with the intent to let it fall trough the underlying grating for good luck and rub the boar's snut to ensure a return to Florence.
The base of the piglet that Tacca developed is enriched with many truly realistic animals of the swamps where wild boars ususally stay: frogs, lizards, snails, crabs, tortoises and grass snakes.
